Woodhaven is home to a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive community that maintains strong connections with the local area and partnerships with local organisations. For more than 25 years, we have cared for and supported the wellbeing of many people throughout Lockhart and the wider regions of the Riverina.
The original home was built in 1990, as a home to just 13 residents. The first expansion took place in October 2003, with the addition of a further 10 beds. With the assistance of a generous government grant, the next exciting chapter of Woodhaven is planned to add a further 6 rooms and upgrade to the existing facilities.
23 Rooms, all single with private ensuites.
11 of our rooms have direct access to the outside garden areas.
Our team consists of clinical staff and specialists, including registered nurses and personal care assistants available on-call, 24-hours a day. Entering aged care can present a significant lifestyle change for some people and may seem complicated. So before becoming a Woodhaven resident, it is important you and your loved ones make the best decisions regarding your aged care. For prospective residents, we’ve detailed the key steps involved here.
Basic Daily Fee
A basic daily fee is used to contribute towards your day-to-day living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry, heating and cooling. It is part of the overall fees you pay towards your care.
The basic daily fee increases on 20 March and 20 September each year in line with changes to the Age Pension.
The basic daily fee is 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. From 20 March 2020, the single rate of the basic age pension is $860.60 per fortnight, making the basic daily fee (from 20 March to 19 September 2020):
$52.25 per day; or $731.51 per fortnight
This amount is indexed with the age pension. This applies even if you are a member of a couple.
Means-tested Care Fee
A contribution to care fee is paid to the federal government where a person is in a financial position to do so. The cost (if any) of a person’s Contribution to Care Fee is dependent on their financial situation and is determined by the government. Please note the government have a lifetime cap on this fee.
