In April 2024, Yallambee Lodge became the newest member of the Respect family. Originally built and opened in 1995, the home features 40 private rooms, each equipped with dedicated ensuites. Yallambee Lodge offers a comprehensive range of care services, including specialised palliative care, to support residents with complex personal and medical needs. Additionally, the home is well-equipped to cater to residents requiring higher levels of care.

Standard Room

Each of the 24 standard rooms has a private ensuite. Vinyl flooring throughout with underfloor heating. An overhead fan is supplied in each bedroom. Curtains, television and telephone connection points are provided. All rooms have built in wardrobes and a small lockable safe. Ongoing maintenance ensure all fittings and fixtures are kept at a quality standard.

With a diverse range of care staff at Yallambee, including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Carers, your care will be delivered by people who are familiar with, and trained to give care appropriate to your needs. A Registered Nurse is on call 24 hours a day and all care is assessed, and monitored, by a qualified nurse.

Services + Amenities

A range of programs and activities are developed to encourage participation and reduce isolation, including community based outings. Residents are offered care supports which meet their individual needs and offers the best possible quality of life. The facility is divided in to five separate houses on the one site. Each house accommodates eight residents. Each house has a large lounge room, dining room and kitchen. There is also a quiet sitting area in each house, all accessible to residents (Houses 4 and 5 have secure kitchens). All common areas are air conditioned and have under floor heating. Each house has a laundry which may be accessed after the laundress completes her shift. Some services are part of Respect's Premium Services bundle (Higher Every Day Living Services). Explanation of fees at Yallambee Lodge (formerly operated by Snowy Monaro Regional Council)

Your own personal circumstances and financial situation will influence the amount you pay for your place in an aged care home. The Government determines how much you pay or may be required to contribute. For some people the Government will pay for most of the costs and for others, that can afford to, the Government will ask you to contribute more. We have a range of options that cater to everybody, no matter what their financial situation is.

Basic daily fee

This fee covers the cost of day-to-day services, such as meals, cleaning, laundry and facilities management, and is payable by all residents.

Based on current rate:

$66.80

The basic daily fee = 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. This changes twice per year.

Hotelling supplement contribution

This supplement covers daily living expenses such as cleaning, meals, and laundry, over and above the basic daily fee.

Payable depending on the resident’s assessable assets and income. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

Daily cap:

Non-clinical care contribution

This covers the cost of non-clinical services like social support, lifestyle activities, and administration.

This covers the cost of living in a residential aged care home. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

Financial assistance is available to those who truly need it. A means assessment will determine your eligibility based on your financial situation.

What are my options if I am self-funding my aged care accommodation?

The good news is, if you are paying for your accommodation costs without Government assistance, you have a choice as to how you pay:

Option 1: RAD

A lump sum payment:

$525,000 Standard Room

$575,000 Superior Room

RAD = Refundable Accommodation Deposit
Fully refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Option 2: DAP

Daily payments:

$121.25 Standard Room

$132.80 Superior Room

DAP = Daily Accommodation Payment
Rental-style, non-refundable payments.

Option 3: RAD + DAP

A combination of 50% RAD + 50% DAP
50% refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Example of combination payment of a standard room:
50% refundable deposit (RAD) of $262,500
and 50% daily payment (DAP) of $60.63
