Activities + excursions

Residents tell us the types of games and activities they like during our bi-monthly meetings. This helps the planning of the daily activities that are scheduled through our social care programme. Residents also enjoy visits from a registered music therapist.

Coroneagh Park is nestled in the coastal town of Penguin, which lends a healthful connection to nature and a sense of belonging. Residents can hop the bus to go out to lunch or do a bit of group shopping during one of our organised trips.

Family and friends may visit Coroneagh Park anytime. For added peace of mind, remote video calls are always available. Our team is skilled to assist with technology to set up a successful video call.

Here it's lovely because there's always someone here, the carers are lovely, they all seem to genuinely like their job and like people. They're always so kind, they always speak nicely to residents, there's no bullying or a bad temper or anything like that with them. And they'll do anything for you, I mean the catering staff - they always make me a cup of tea exactly how I like it. You know, little things like that are really nice.

Explanation of fees at Coroneagh Park

Your own personal circumstances and financial situation will influence the amount you pay for your place in an aged care home. The Government determines how much you pay or may be required to contribute. For some people the Government will pay for most of the costs and for others, that can afford to, the Government will ask you to contribute more. We have a range of options that cater to everybody, no matter what their financial situation is.

Basic daily fee

This fee covers the cost of day-to-day services, such as meals, cleaning, laundry and facilities management, and is payable by all residents.

Based on current rate:

$66.80

$24,382

The basic daily fee = 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. This changes twice per year.

Hotelling supplement contribution

This supplement covers daily living expenses such as cleaning, meals, and laundry, over and above the basic daily fee.

Payable depending on the resident’s assessable assets and income. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

Daily cap:

$22.15

Non-clinical care contribution

This covers the cost of non-clinical services like social support, lifestyle activities, and administration.

Payable depending on the resident’s assessable assets and income. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

Daily cap:

$105.30

Lifetime cap:

$135,318.69 or

the resident has been in aged care for more than four years.

Accommodation cost

This covers the cost of living in a residential aged care home. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

How will I know if I’m eligible for financial assistance for aged care?

Financial assistance is available to those who truly need it. A means assessment will determine your eligibility based on your financial situation.

What are my options if I am self-funding my aged care accommodation?

The good news is, if you are paying for your accommodation costs without Government assistance, you have a choice as to how you pay:

Option 1: RAD

A lump sum payment:

$575,000 Standard room

$600,000 Premium room

$625,000 Superior room

RAD = Refundable Accommodation Deposit
Fully refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Option 2: DAP

Daily payments:

$132.80 Standard room

$138.58 Premium room

$144.35 Superior room

DAP = Daily Accommodation Payment
Rental-style, non-refundable payments.

Option 3: RAD + DAP

A combination of 50% RAD + 50% DAP
50% refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Example of combination payment of a standard room:
50% refundable deposit (RAD) of $287,500
and 50% daily payment (DAP) of $66.40
