Riverside Gardens Aged Care Centre in Nambucca Heads is home to 97 residents, each with a private room and ensuite for comfort and independence. The centre spans three levels: one with a secure area featuring a courtyard and garden, and the others offering bright, spacious sunrooms for relaxation and social connection. Our priority is care, comfort and respect for every individual. Residents benefit from a wide range of allied health services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, podiatry, dietetics, optometry, audiometry and dental care. Therapy programs, recreational activities and regular hairdresser visits are part of everyday life. With landscaped gardens and an on-site café serving light meals and refreshments in an alfresco setting, Riverside Gardens blends professional care with a welcoming community feel.

Regular support groups and recreational programs bring people together, offering companionship and opportunities to stay active and engaged. There's easy access along flat footpaths to the Nambucca River, the v-wall, and nearby beaches. The Island Golf Club is close by, and public transport is available right outside the facility, making it easy for residents to explore the local area.

Explanation of fees at Riverside Gardens

Your own personal circumstances and financial situation will influence the amount you pay for your place in an aged care home. The Government determines how much you pay or may be required to contribute. For some people the Government will pay for most of the costs and for others, that can afford to, the Government will ask you to contribute more. We have a range of options that cater to everybody, no matter what their financial situation is.

Basic daily fee

This fee covers the cost of day-to-day services, such as meals, cleaning, laundry and facilities management, and is payable by all residents.

Based on current rate:

$66.80

The basic daily fee = 85% of the single person rate of the basic age pension. This changes twice per year.

Hotelling supplement contribution

This supplement covers daily living expenses such as cleaning, meals, and laundry, over and above the basic daily fee.

Payable depending on the resident’s assessable assets and income. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

Daily cap:

Non-clinical care contribution

This covers the cost of non-clinical services like social support, lifestyle activities, and administration.

Payable depending on the resident’s assessable assets and income. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

This covers the cost of living in a residential aged care home. You may be eligible for Governmental financial assistance.

What are my options if I am self-funding my aged care accommodation?

The good news is, if you are paying for your accommodation costs without Government assistance, you have a choice as to how you pay:

Option 1: RAD

A lump sum payment:

$600,000 Standard room

$650,000 Deluxe room

RAD = Refundable Accommodation Deposit
Fully refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Option 2: DAP

Daily payments:

$138.58 Standard room

$150.12 Deluxe room

DAP = Daily Accommodation Payment
Rental-style, non-refundable payments.

Option 3: RAD + DAP

A combination of 50% RAD + 50% DAP
50% refundable when you leave the home, less 2% per annum (maximum 5 years).

Example of combination payment of a standard room:
50% refundable deposit (RAD) of $300,000
and 50% daily payment (DAP) of $69.29
