We Welcome Kalgoorlie-based Aged Care Service to Our Respect Family

Respect is excited to welcome Amana Living’s Kalgoorlie-based aged care operations – located approximately 600km east of Perth in the Goldfields region of Western Australia – to our growing network of aged care communities.

The local aged care service, which comprises Edward Collick Home, Muschamp Village, and local home care services, will join Respect in May of this year.

A fellow not-for-profit, Amana Living has provided aged care services in Kalgoorlie for more than 40 years.

However, workforce shortages, increasing infrastructure costs, and the complexities of managing services from Perth have made it increasingly difficult for them to sustain their local operations.

As a result, and to secure the long-term future of aged care services in the region, Amana Living has chosen to transfer operations to our organisation, as a specialist regional provider.

Stephanie Buckland, Chief Executive Officer of Amana Living, said the decision was made in the best interests of residents, clients, families, and staff.

“Our priority has always been to provide the highest quality of care to the people we serve. We are confident that Respect will sustain and enhance aged care services in the Goldfields. Importantly, this transition ensures continuity of care, job security for our staff, and a seamless experience for residents, clients and families,” Stephanie says.

Jason Binder, our Managing Director and CEO, welcomed the opportunity to build on Amana Living’s legacy to further strengthen aged care services in the Goldfields, now and for generations to come.

“Respect is committed to delivering exceptional care for older people living in rural and regional Australia and ensuring aged care services continue to be sustainable and available for local families in need,” Jason says.

“As a not-for-profit organisation, we’ve been growing throughout the past decade and have become known for our ability to make regional aged care services thrive while investing back into the surrounding community.

“With our proud, regional focus and approach to building strong community connections, we feel privileged to have been given an opportunity to grow our support into Western Australia and care for the older people of Kalgoorlie.

Together with residents, clients, staff and the community, we are excited to continue Amana Living’s legacy in the Goldfields and embark on the next chapter of the service’s growing history and local connection.

“Our teams are currently collaborating with Amana Living in the lead-up to May, and we look forward to welcoming their staff, residents, and clients to our Respect family.”

Edward Collick Home will be the 28th aged care home to join Respect and first in Western Australia. Our organisation has grown significantly throughout its history, particularly in the last decade to include homes across Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales. Respect also operates home care services in multiple states and manages more than 700 units in various retirement villages and independent living communities.
