We’ve released the spring edition of our quarterly magazine, providing you a snapshot of all the news, events and updates recently taking place across our aged care communities.

With the sun shining and flowers blooming, spring has already been jam-packed with activities and celebrations taking place. From joining others across the country in catching Olympic fever (page 4) to welcoming special guests from the community for some unique fun (just a few highlights on page 10, 13, and 26), our residents enjoyed making use of the improved weather to ensure each and every day was full of memorable moments.

In this issue, we also wanted to introduce you to some of the amazing people we’re proud to call valued members of our Respect family. For example, starting on page 24, you’ll meet Colin and Margaret, who – despite living in different states – both joined our ‘100 club’ after each celebrating their milestone birthday. Elsewhere, on page 14, you’ll read about Rod, a member of our retirement living community in Lindisfarne whose special passion is brightening up the lives of his fellow residents and their visitors to the village.

We also proudly celebrated the achievements of our team who were recognised at the 2024 Palliative Care Awards. In particular, on page 16, we spoke with Suzette Long, one of our Personal Care Assistants at Peacehaven in Norwood, Tasmania, after she was honoured with the inaugural ‘Ruth Andrews Memorial Award for Kindness’.

And with Aged Care Employee Day also having taken place in recent months, it was even more of a reason to pay tribute to all our staff, far and wide, for the wonderful work they do, impacting lives in local communities. To read more about the celebrations that took place across our communities, turn to page 20.

And as always, our homes were honoured to continue their connection with their surrounding communities. For example, this included working with local schools to profile the future opportunities for those interested in careers in aged care (page 11) as well as hosting fundraising activities to support others living locally (page 3 and 18).
