Lyndoch Living Joins the Respect Family

Lyndoch Living |

Lyndoch Living – located in Warrnambool, on Victoria’s south-west coast – will officially join Respect, becoming the 26th home in our growing network of aged care communities across Australia.

Lyndoch Living, which comprises a 198-bed residential aged care home, retirement living units, and local home care services, will join Respect on 1st of June 2024.

Jason Binder, our Managing Director and CEO, says Lyndoch Living becoming part of Respect will ensure support for residents and clients, their families, and the broader communities of South-West Victoria, can continue for generations to come.

“Respect is committed to delivering exceptional care for older Australians in rural and regional Australia and ensuring aged care services continue to be sustainable and available for local families in need,” Jason says. “Bringing Lyndoch Living into our family of aged care homes and services will ensure the longevity of its support for South-West Victoria, which already exceeds several decades.

“As a not-for-profit organisation, we’ve been growing throughout the past decade and have become known for our ability to make aged care homes thrive while investing back into the home and the surrounding community.

“We’re excited to continue to develop and grow Lyndoch Living’s support for residents and clients, their families, and the wider community, and we look forward to ensuring the home remains a wonderful place for residents to live.”

Lyndoch Living has faced financial and operating challenges in recent years.

Lyndoch Living Chair Dr Peter O’Brien says the home’s Board undertook a three-year turnaround plan which has resulted in improvements and an improved financial result. However, navigating this environment as a stand-alone aged care provider became increasingly difficult, and they decided a larger provider, such as Respect, would ensure the “sustainable future of the Lyndoch legacy”.

“This was not an easy decision but one we believe is right,” Dr O’Brien says. “Respect has an excellent reputation and very positive feedback was received from other aged care facilities which have joined their group of homes.

“Respect shares the mission and values of Lyndoch Living and has a focus of providing excellent care to its aged care residents and clients. Respect also has a strong commitment to supporting and developing its staff members.

“Overall, we are convinced that Respect has the strength, experience, and expertise to provide Lyndoch Living with the resources needed to thrive, innovate, and continue delivering the exceptional aged care services that the Warrnambool community deserves.”

Lyndoch Living is the 26th aged care home to join Respect, and on behalf of our organisation, we look forward to welcoming their staff, residents, and clients to our Respect family.
