Costa House residents recently took part in the Geelong Show, entering a wide range of handmade creations that were proudly displayed and judged across several categories. Their efforts were recognised with prizes, smiles, and plenty of appreciation from the public.
The highlights included Gwen’s hand-knitted socks, which drew plenty of attention, and Marjorie’s beautifully crafted cards and windchime. Jillian’s fingerless gloves, Carmel’s sock rabbit and watercolour painting, Judith’s craftwork, and Hazel’s scratch drawing also received warm praise. Hazel joked, “I’ve never won anything before – except my husband!”

Other standout entries included Bill’s food-themed collage, along with the decorated Cinderella shoe and handmade bracelets created by Shirley and Dianne. Residents from the Flinders wing also contributed two impressive pieces: a Māori warrior cloak made from coloured feathers, and a canola field display featuring the You Yangs and Cape Barren Geese, both inspired by the local landscape.
Thanks to everyone who took part. Your creativity and teamwork made this a show to remember!
