Celebrating Our Aged Care Community

Every year on 7 August, Australia marks Aged Care Employee Day. It’s a chance to say thank you to the people who care for older Australians every single day.

At Respect, our nurses, clinical leaders, personal care assistants, allied health staff, social care teams, chefs, cleaners, maintenance teams, administration, volunteers and so many more make up our wonderful care community.

Currently in Australia there are around 456,000 aged care workers looking after 1.3 million older Australians using aged care services – it’s a workforce doing quiet work behind the scenes and it’s work that really matters.  

On this Aged Care Employee Day, we want to shine a light and thank our people. Their compassion, patience, hard work and dedication make a real difference and make Respect the place it is. That deserves to be celebrated.
